The Difference
Hiring decisions in today's downsized workforce are more critical than ever.
Selection Interviewing focuses on the dynamics of the interview process to
assure that every new hire becomes a valued contributor to your organization.
In order to make an intelligent informed decision, the interview must be well
planned, organized and informative. Participants will leave with the tools
and skills necessary to thoroughly and fairly assess each candidate and to
conduct the interview with integrity and confidence.
Description
Selection Interviewing is a one-day workshop designed to teach participants
how to interview and subsequently hire effectively. The workshop is highly
participative with role plays, group discussions and intensive practice of
interviewing techniques.

Selection Interviewing covers every phase of the interviewing process: preparing
for the interview, reviewing resumes, conducting the interview and assessing
the candidate. The Behavioral Event Interview, a highly successful interview
technique, is a vital component of the workshop.
Design
Selection Interviewing provides each participant with the opportunity to plan
and conduct an interview. Working in teams of three (a hiring manager, a candidate
and an observer), participants will practice the skills learned in the workshop
and will receive extensive individualized feedback. Methods include group
discussion, lecture, skill exercises and feedback from the instructor and
class participants.
